05/27/17 Saturday Waterford, NY
Spent the day doing some cleaning, shopping, and a little sight seeing around Waterford. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Erie canal.
Here is my boat at the dock with a number of other cruisers who will likely start across the canal in the next few days.
Here is a map or the NY canal system. I'm starting on the right side in Waterford and ending on the left side in Buffalo, NY (click on the picture to enlarge it).
Here is the first series of locks. Actually, this is the original set of 6 locks (without the doors) that was replaced by tomorrow's first lock. The barges traveling the canal were quite a bit smaller 150 years ago.
In the lead off position with the first lock visible below the bridge.
